Camp outs
Camp out expeditions are a great addition to any serious New Zealand fly fishing experience.
Camp out expeditions are generally suited to the angler who does not mind doing some hard yards. Getting the hands dirty and helping out a bit with the chores of being in a camping environment is a must. Where we go on a camp out is never pre-determined but worked out to suit the conditions at the time so we can maximize opportunities of being in some of the most awe inspiring fly-fishing terrain on the planet and the chance to hook into truly stunning NZ trout.
We have 3 different sorts of camp out.
Camp Out Option 1
Doing the hard yards, hiking into a truly remote area and and basing riverside for a few days enjoying a truly exceptional remote fly fishing experience. This camp out expedition require the client being able to carry a fairly heavy pack through some tough terrain and be comfortable sleeping rough in small tents or bivvy bags ….. generally roughing it.

Simon, I can’t tell you how much I appreciated everything you did to make my fishing trip unforgettable. That trophy brown was totally unbelievable! Frankly, I’m surprised we were able to land him. That was one of the longest fights I’ve ever had with a fish. Fighting that trout and the river current was a whole new experience for me. Your advice and help were invaluable. I will definitely call you the next time I get to New Zealand. And I really enjoyed your website article and photo. Thanks again Simon for putting me in position to catch the fish of a lifetime. And it was almost a few fish of a lifetime. All in all…brilliant!!!
