Hunting Thar and Chamois is a great challenge for even experienced and fit hunters and we are very lucky to have the terrain relatively near Queenstown that gives the ability to experience the thrill of stalking these magnificent creatures.
NZ Hunting Expeditions
Our Three day, two night expedition hunting Thar and Chamois with accommodation in a remote back country hut uses a helicopter to access the hut which places you much closer to the hunting arena. Even so a good degree of fitness is required because from here on in you and your guide are on foot doing the hard yards in spectacular alpine terrain.
Package includes: all 4WD transport, guide/s, all food and non alcoholic refreshments, rifles and equipment, helicopter drop off and pick up, accommodation in back country hut, digital images, safety and risk management and GST.
All Thar and Chamois Hunting is free range hunting so no trophy fees apply with this hunting expedition.

NB. Shorter trips can be organized if you wish to hunt these these game animals and your fitness is not quite what it used to be and you may wish to have the comfort of a nice bed in a hotel or lodge we can tailor the expedition so that we use the helicopter during each days hunting to get you right up and close with these animals negating much of the hiking – this will incur additional expense due to the increase in helicopter time but is certainly worth it for those with lower fitness levels and requiring more comfort.
