NZ Fly Fishing Cancellation Policy

Fishing depends on timing, weather, water and access - and sometimes plans need to change. This cancellation policy explains how deposits, refunds, client cancellations and weather-related decisions are handled for single day and multi day expeditions.

Single day expeditions

If you cancel a single day expedition within 7 days of the booking date, the full deposit will be forfeited unless you are able to find a suitable replacement angler.

Any replacement angler must be approved at the discretion of New Zealand Fly Fishing Expeditions.

If you cancel within 24 hours of the expedition, the full expedition fee will be payable.

Only the guide can postpone or cancel a single day expedition due to unsuitable weather, river conditions, access issues or any other factor that may affect the safety of the client, guide or wider group.

If a single day expedition cannot be safely run or postponed due to these conditions, it will be cancelled and a full refund will be provided, less any transaction fees.

Multi-day expeditions

If you cancel a multi-day expedition within 30 days of the start date, the full deposit will be forfeited unless you are able to find a suitable replacement angler.

Any replacement angler must be approved at the discretion of New Zealand Fly Fishing Expeditions.

If you cancel within 24 hours of the expedition, the full expedition fee will be payable.

If New Zealand Fly Fishing Expeditions is able to replace the cancelled dates with another booking of similar length and value, a refund may be considered. This will be at the discretion of New Zealand Fly Fishing Expeditions and may be partial, less credit card and administration fees.

Weather and river conditions on multi day expeditions

On multi-day expeditions, your guide will always work to find the best available water each day based on the conditions.

However, weather and river levels are part of fishing here, and they are outside our control. For this reason, refunds are not provided for days affected or lost due to adverse weather or river conditions during a multi day expedition.

Third-party costs

Some expeditions may involve third-party providers, such as accommodation, transport, helicopter access or other external services.

These providers may have their own cancellation terms. Any third-party costs are subject to the terms of those providers and may not be refundable, even if the fishing expedition itself is changed, postponed or cancelled.

Refunds

Where a refund is approved, credit card fees, transaction fees and administration fees may be deducted.

Refunds may be partial depending on the circumstances, timing and any costs already incurred.
