A few things worth knowing
before we head out

NZ Fly Fishing Terms & Conditions

A good day on the river starts well before we see the first fish. These terms are here to keep the practical details clear from the beginning, including bookings, payments, licences, safety expectations and what may affect the day. New Zealand conditions can change quickly, but when the details are understood early, we can focus on what matters once we reach the water.

Booking and payment

To secure your expedition, a 30% deposit is required at the time of booking.
Once your dates are confirmed, we’ll send through a deposit invoice. The remaining balance is due 7 days before the expedition.

All prices are quoted in New Zealand dollars and include 15% GST.
We strongly recommend arranging travel insurance. New Zealand weather can be brilliant, stubborn, or both in the same afternoon.

What is included

Depending on the trip, this may include or exclude items such as transport, equipment, meals, accommodation, fishing licences, helicopter access or other third-party costs.
We’ll make this clear before your booking is confirmed, so there are no surprises on the day.

Fishing licences

Clients are responsible for holding the correct New Zealand fishing licence for the waters being fished, unless this has been arranged with us in advance.
Please make sure your licence is valid for the date and location of your expedition.

Client responsibility

Some expeditions may involve walking, wading, uneven ground, river crossings, remote access and changing weather or river conditions.
Before your trip, please let us know your fishing experience, fitness level, wading ability and any relevant medical conditions or injuries. This helps us choose suitable water for the day and keep the experience safe, enjoyable and properly matched to your ability.
All clients must follow guide instructions while on the water, around river crossings and in backcountry environments. Your guide may change the plan, move locations, postpone or cancel an expedition if conditions, access, safety or any other factor makes it necessary.

Third-party costs

Some expeditions may involve third-party providers, such as accommodation, transport, helicopter access or other external services.
These providers may have their own booking and cancellation terms. Any third-party costs are subject to the terms of those providers and may not be refundable, even if the fishing expedition itself is changed, postponed or cancelled.

Loan equipment

If any equipment is loaned to you for the expedition, it must be returned in good condition.
Damage or loss caused by negligence may be charged to the client.
